Easter

Easter was during General Conference weekend this year so we had an evening get-together at Bonnie's for all of the Howard side on Saturday. It just happened to be freezing cold that night. All the little kids had to wait in Bonnie's room while the big kids and adults hid the eggs.

Jake just kind of wandered around and ended up with about 3 eggs.

Joey, on the other hand, made sure he ran and picked up quite a stash.

Gracie picked up one egg, found out there was candy in it, and was done searching. She just wanted to eat the candy.

And you'll notice there's no pictures of Jackson this year. Unfortunately, this was the year he decided he was just too old to hunt for Easter eggs. So sad!

Then for Easter morning the kids asked if I could make sure the Easter Bunny hid their baskets so they had to search for them. So we agreed and started youngest to oldest.

So Gracie didn't have to look very hard but she loved her stuff.

Jake found his!

Chalk and books and...

new swimsuits and kites and more.

Jackson found his in the shower. The Easter Bunny worked hard to hide his well.

Jackson got his coveted Diary of a Wimpy Kid the Movie book.

Easter Outfits

I had the hardest time finding Gracie an Easter dress this year. We looked and looked while we were in Mesa for spring break and I just couldn't find one I liked enough. The boys were easy. I finally found this one at Babies R Us literally as we were driving back to Thatcher. We stopped and I left all the family in the car while I ran in. Jan bought the cute accessories to go with it. I think she looked adorable.

Spring Break

Yes, I'm really this far behind. For spring break we decided to head to Mesa and stay at the condo and save a little money this year. It was also my birthday and my sister agreed to keep my kids overnight so Scott and I could have some good quality time together.

We went down on Friday night and dropped the kids at my sisters. Scott and I went to dinner and then the next day spent some time shopping for maternity clothes for my birthday present since none of my clothes fit me anymore. We had lunch and weren't supposed to pick up the kids until Sat. evening but found that my whole family was hanging out at Heather's with the kids. So we headed over there and hung out with them for the rest of the evening.

On Sunday, my actual birthday we all went and visited Grandma in the hospital and had a BBQ at Heather's house with the rest of my family.

On Monday we took the kids and rode the Light Rail downtown and took the kids to the Arizona Science Center. I think we all enjoyed the Light Rail ride more than the science center but they did have some cool things. It was just way over priced for all you got to do.

There were lots of little quizzes to test your knowledge

Exhibit of the human body. They got to open drawers and find body parts inside.

Lincoln Logs! These were my favorite growing up.

Joey working on building a floor plan for a house.

This was pretty cool. The kids got to lay on a bed of nails and raise and lower the nails.

This had air blowing out of the gray holes and you could put the balls over the air and it would keep it in the air.

Gracie was so worn out she fell asleep as we left with her sucker still in her mouth.

After we finished up there we took the kids to Chuck-E-Cheese for dinner. They love that place I guess because they're kids. They had lots of fun spending they're tokens. Even Gracie got in on the action and rode the rides and kept going around stealing peoples tickets.

Ski-ball is a favorite for Joey

and Jackson spends most of his time and tokens on the basketball throw.

Jake pretty much wanders around and does whatever he can.

Gracie loved the slide and probably spent most of her time on it.

Tuesday was probably the most fun for the kids. We took them, along with my 2 brothers, sister, and 3 nephews to a place called Jumpstreet in Chandler that was wall to wall trampolines. They also had 4 or 5 big jump houses as well. The kids jumped for 2-3 hours straight and just had a blast. I didn't get very good pictures at this place mostly because they were all blurry. Here's a few though.

On Wed. we brought my sisters two boys back with us and they stayed and finished out the spring break week playing with the boys. My sister and brother-in-law came Friday night to pick them up. They stayed until Saturday and had a fun day.

I think all in all it was a pretty successful week.
