Jackson's First Year in Football

Jackson started football this year instead of soccer and he absolutely loves it. He wasn't so sure when they were practicing in August in 110 degree weather but once they started games in September he loved it! He plays on the Peewee League for the Dolphins and has a great team. They're actually 7-0 right now with only one more game to play this Saturday. If they win they will have a completely undefeated season and will win the championship.

We're so proud of him. He's learned a lot this season. Most of his team has been playing for 3 years and this was his first so he played second string but he's got a lot more playing time as the season has progressed and he's doing really awesome. I know it will help him in the years to come when he plays ball for Junior High and High School.

He's #35 and plays defense

Just won game #4! Go dolphins!

His cousin and best friend, Justice is on his team with him.

Coaches giving them a pep talk after the game.

Cake Pops!

So I attempted my first batch of cake pops from the bakerella.com website. I made a batch for my sister-in-law, Davery's baby shower. She had a pink and orange theme so I made strawberry cake for the inside then dipped them in orange chocolate and sprinkled with pink sugar. They turned out so cute and were absolutely delicious! Loved them! Lots and lots of work but still yummy so probably worth it for a special occasion.

Jackson Turns 10!

My first born is now in the double digits! I can hardly believe I have a son that old until I find out that people I graduate have kids that are already graduating themselves. CRAZY!!! We didn't do a whole lot because his birthday was on a Sunday and we have our big birthday parties on years 5, 8 & 12. But my sister and her family were here and they helped us sing and blow out the candles and watched him open his presents. He got a few air soft guns and lots of cash. I think he had a good birthday.

Don't mind the ugly cake. It tasted yummy but I only had 2 hours to make his cake and so I didn't have the time to allow it to cool properly before putting it together so the bottom layer started to cave in from the weight of the top layer.

Jackson is such an awesome kid. From the day he was born he's been easy. He has a special spirit about him and making the right choices is just second nature to him. He has a way of always knowing what's right and wrong. He is such a help to me and I don't know how I'd get through a day without him. The older he gets the more I depend on him. He's pretty good about always being willing to help.

We have begun to butt heads a little and I can see the first inklings of the teenager emerging in him and it scares me to death. He wants to question everything I say or do and I don't do well with that. I hate the thought that one day as a teenager he may not like me or may be embarrassed by me. I dread that day coming but until then I will savor the moments we have together. I love you, Jackson!

My Sister Got Married ...

again. But this was a great wedding. Everyone is so happy with her marriage to Brian Koester and his two little boys, Justin - 9 and Kyle - 5. My boys love them and have such a good time with they come to visit. Brian and his son Justin were also baptized the same day right after the wedding. It was a busy day for them and probably a bit overwhelming but they are all so happy. I took a few pictures and edited them for her so I thought I'd post to my blog.
