My Athlete

Jackson was practically born with a ball in his hand. It is sheer torture for him to have to stay in the house too long. He wants to be out playing ball or being outside. He was blessed with some athletic genes because his dad loves and played most all sports growing up and excelled at whatever he did. My family is also very athletic so if he didn't get it from one side he could get it
from the other.

Jackson is doing very well on his new team this year out at the Graham County Little League. He's one of the youngest on his team but still manages to hold his own. We're very proud of him and his accomplishments.

However, as much as I love that he plays sports sometimes all the games out at the fairgrounds with the horrible wind are just miserable. I might as well get used to it though because I have two more boys to go and lots of years and ballgames ahead of me.

I'm so excited for my Nursery!!

Jan went with me to Tucson yesterday because it was Joey's turn for a procedure. (My poor boys!) Anyway, when we were finished we went to Joann's to see if we could find some fabric so we could come up with a direction to go with the nursery. I knew I wanted light pink, dark pink, yellow and green for the colors and I love different textures so we picked out the solid soft minky fabrics first. Then I wanted some kind of print to tie them all together and we kind of found a plaid but I wasn't crazy about it. Then I came across these geometric circles and fell in love with it. I thought that was going to be it until I kept looking and found the flower fabric in the same colors! I'm in love! It's just like a scrapbook page. Now we just have to decide how to put it all together. It's going to be so fun to decorate a little girl room!

This fabric looks so much cuter in person but this gives you a little of an idea.

Jake's Surgery

Well, my sweet Jake had to go have surgery in Tucson on Monday. The poor thing has been so sore the last few days. He had to have an orchiopexy (I won't go into details for his sake but let's just say it's in the area no boy wants surgery on.) and while they were at it we decided to have him circumcized as well since he is our only boy that had not been and we didn't want him feeling different. He came through it just fine and is so brave but has been walking pretty funny for the last few days and probably will be for a week or so until things get back to their normal size. Poor kiddo. He's so brave and only cries when he knows it's time to go potty.

Bean Burro Bell

While in the drive-thru at Taco Bell the other day Joey asks, "Mom, why is it called Taco Bell?" "I don't know Joey." "Well, I don't think it should be Taco Bell, I think it should be Bean Burro Bell because we don't like tacos." "Well, that's a good point, Joey, but it just doesn't sound quite the same and I don't think they'll change it just for us." "Well, that's ok Mom. I'm still going to call it Bean Burro Bell." "OK, Joey. Whatever you want."

So observant. Not something I would ever think in my head in a million years. Kids and their logic!

Easter, Finally!

OK - So I know Easter was like a month ago but with the adoption and sealing I never got around to posting about Easter. Plus, when all the sisters post all the same pictures it makes me not want to even post about it because it's already been done. However, when I print out my blog into a book at the end of the year I figured I'll regret not having this in here.

The boys opened their Easter Baskets from the Easter bunny on Saturday morning: They got fun things like swimsuits, bucket hats, new church books, tie tacks and CTR bracelets. They thought it was just like Christmas.

In the afternoon Stephanie invited us all to a BBQ Egg Hunt at her grandparents house in Pima. They have the best yard and the kids had a blast. We had lots of yummy food and nice company. After everyone ate we hid the eggs and the race was on!

Nana put some money in one of the eggs and hid it extra well. After the kids had found all the eggs they still couldn't find this one so Scott kept making the boundaries smaller and smaller until Jackson found it. He was very excited to have won the $5.

Once they were finished hunting and their tummy's were full they all piled into the hammock to rest. They called me over to take their picture. They've all been trained so well. They know that everything has to be documented with a picture!

It was a fun day for all!

Joey

This boy sure can try my patience but he sure is a sweetie. I never posted anything about his birthday back in January so I thought I'd put a few pictures from his birthday in here and talk about him just a bit. More for journaling purposes more than anything so only read if you feel like it.

He takes the best pictures and I'm always being told he ought to be in commercials. He has great expressions. He wants nothing more to please and he just hates himself when he makes bad choices. He loves to help you do anything and he has a million questions. He just craves attention and love and sometimes he drives me so crazy that it's hard to give it to him but it shouldn't be. It is my goal to make him feel special and important and like he is getting enough attention. He has missed out on so much of that already in his short little life. I just wish it came easier for me. I often wish I was more like Jen who can give attention and affection so easily. It's just not in my nature but I am working on it.

TAX Auditors aren't so bad after all

Well, I haven't posted anything in awhile because life has been very hectic lately. The Eagle's Roost is being audited! Isn't that crazy? How do we even show a blip on their radar. We're so small our measly couple hundred dollars each month is nothing. Why should they care about us. I've been so stressed out about it until the other morning I woke up at 4:00 a.m. and made myself sick stressing about it. Of course, Scott who can always keep me grounded reminded me there was nothing to worry about as long as we're honest. He said we're just doing things the way they've been done for 28 years so quit worrying about it.

Well, I'm happy to report that he showed up today and couldn't have been nicer. He was only here for about an hour and wrote down a few numbers and was probably thinking in his head, "what the heck does the irs care about these people." He said things looked like we were doing them right and he would send me a report in few weeks. Of course, he hasn't actually crunched the numbers yet. He'll do that when he gets home. But hopefully everything will look ok.

We Finally Did It!

We bought a trampoline. Jackson has wanted one for years but we never had insurance. I told him if we had insurance we could get one. Well, now we do and the little boys are always playing in the backyard and need more to do back there. So we broke down and did it.

The first thing Jackson wanted to do was jump on it with the sprinklers. That lasted for a little while until everyone was freezing and filthy. Then they jumped till they were dry. They had a blast.

Our Temple Sealing

Well, I thought I'd better hurry and blog about this since it's already on Becky & Jen's blogs. We made it to the temple to be sealed on March 29th. It was a beautiful day and the temple grounds couldn't have been more lovely. A lot of Scott's family was able to attend as well as my parents and our good friends

The spirit we felt was amazing seeing all three of our little boys dressed in white and knowing we will all be an eternal family now. The boys couldn't have been more well behaved and reverent. I think they understood the importance of what we were doing.

I know you're all getting tired of the green outfits but with Easter, our court and our sealing dates all within a week of each other I needed to just have one nice matching outfit for us all. I know Jackson was ready to wear something else.

Our beautiful boys. Scott blessed Joey & Jake on Sunday and gave them absolutely amazing blessings. They were the best blessings I'd ever heard. These boys sure are lucky to have their Dad.

PINK PINK PINK - FINALLY!

IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, I'm sure you've all heard by now since word travels so quickly around here but she's a girl. We're so excited. Jackson was home sick so he got to go to the sonogram with us and he and Scott were almost happier than I was. They said everything looks great and she's measuring right on schedule and looks very healthy. She was awake and moving but was laying face down with her face looking at my back and her back and bum along my belly so the face shot isn't really great but there's a great one of her spine.
