The Adoption

Well, we've just learned that everything is in order for our adoption to be finalized. All we're waiting on now is a court date with the judge. They told us it should be sometime toward the middle or end of March.

I can't believe how quickly everything has happened. I was telling Scott the other day that on Feb. 25th of this year it will barely be a year since we even started discussing the possibility of adoption and started to pray about it. Now not even a year later we're finalizing everything and soon the boys will be sealed to us for eternity.

We are so not the typical adoption story especially when you factor in Benjamin and Norm & Jen but we know without a doubt that this was always meant to be. What a blessing they have been in our life as well. Now I just have to learn to be a better and more patient mom.
We can't wait to have these sweet boys in our family forever.

Valentine's Day

Well, Valentine's Day was very busy getting treats ready for everyone's parties and cousins and friends. I tried a great new recipe I found on the Picky Palate blog for oreo cookie and nutter butter chocolate truffles. They were a big hit with everyone. Besides that it was pretty uneventful. Scott and I did get to sneak away for a nice quiet dinner up on the hill at the Branding Iron.

While we ate I asked him what his most memorable Valentine's Day was? In all honesty I could only remember one and it was last year. We tried to remember others and couldn't. How sad. However, we both decided last years had to be the best. We started the afternoon off by having a little photo shoot of the two of us courtesy of Becky. We got some fun photos out of it.

Then Jackson and I sent Scott away for a bit and set up a card table in the living room with a fancy table cloth and my china and crystal dishes. We grilled steak, had salad and twice baked potatoes from the butcher. For dessert I dipped strawberries in chocolate. The funnest part though was that Jackson dressed up in his shirt and tie and acted as our waiter. He had so much fun bringing in each course and trying to be so professional. It was a blast and probably the only Valentine's I'll remember for a long time. Here are a few pictures from the day.

I did take the best man out there when we got married.
Sorry girls! I love this man!!!

The Dunes

We had a really fun Saturday this weekend. We went with Norman & Jen Knight and family out to the dunes past Safford. We had 4 quads and my father-in-law's Artic Cat for me to drive. I was a little nervous about riding a quad in my condition. We had enough quads that even Jackson got to ride his own. He thought he'd won the lottery. He's a natural out there on it but he's not to cocky that he doesn't know when he's over his head. I was very proud of him and how he handled himself out there.

Everyone had a good time except for the time when Joey almost ran over himself and Jackson. I thought I was going to have a heart attack. He scared me so bad. We'd stopped for a bit but the cat was still running so the battery wouldn't die. I was standing right next to it talking to Norm and Joey was right next to me. However, I didn't notice when he leaned in and reached over and pushed the pedal to the floor. I didn't know what to do. I couldn't decide if I should try to save Joey from getting his legs smashed by the back wheels or save Jackson who was standing in front of the cat. Luckily Joey realized what he was doing and let go and it stopped just in time. I thought I was going to pass out. I think we all learned a very valuable lesson.

Here are a few pictures from the day.
