New 80's Music
Well, it was time for a change of music and I thought it might be fun to try to think of all my favorite dance music from when I used to attend the Saturday night dance in Mesa when I was 14, 15 & 16. It was fun to discover all the old stuff. Maybe next time I'll have to do one with just all my favorite 80's hair bands. Scroll through them and see if you remember any of them. If not, (Becky) then don't remind me how old I really am! :0)

Well, it's official. Really just a formality but also a relief to have it done. The judge was so nice and didn't have many questions at all because our licensing worker, LaRae was so awesome and had everything in order. It was all very official and we had to speak in a microphone and get sworn in and promise to take care of the boys forever. It was a neat experience.
to ask if we could go up on the stand with her and take a picture.
I think she was very excited to do it.
She said these are her favorite cases to do.
Signing the birth certificates to make it all official.
Our happy family on the courthouse steps
All who attended. Our CPS worker Laura Necas, Licensing worker LaRae Schwartz, Nana, Papa and Aunt Penny taking all the pictures but the last one. Thanks, Penny!

They Caught the Theives!!!! Yeah!
Read post below first. Well, I just got the call that they caught the two guys buried in mud out in one of Steve Daley's cotton fields. They brought in Safford police and apparently they have some kind of flare they can shoot into the air and then they use some kind of binoculars and they can see anything that moves - even a mouse. Well, whatever it is it worked. I'm so relieved. I was conjuring up images of retaliation on our family and horrible scenarios like that so I'm very happy and feel we've done our civic duty tonight by taking some pretty bad guys off the streets. The police said there was enough drug stuff in the car to put them away for a very long time. It's now 1:30 a.m. and I'm starting to get sleepy but Scott is still over at the laundromat waiting for the cops to come dust for prints. Poor guy! His alarm goes off at 5:00 a.m. Hope he gets to bed before then.

Not So Quiet Little Thatcher Anymore
So I'm sitting here at the computer trying to make myself busy so I don't freak out of my skin completely. Scott left the house about 11:00 tonight to do his nightly ritual of closing up the laundromat. He ALWAYS drives and I figured tonight when we are so unseasonably freezing he would definitely drive. However, he decided to walk and when he walked into the laundromat the lights were off but he could see lights on inside the little room behind the dryers where the cash machine is and he could see someone shaking the cash machine.
Meanwhile I'm at home washing my face in the bathroom when he runs in as pale as a ghost screaming where's the phone. I immediately begin freaking out running around trying to figure out if he's bleeding or dying and trying to find the damn phone. He says the laundromat is being robbed!!! So he calls 911 and reports burglary in progress, I call his parents and tell them and then next thing I know he's jumping in his truck to go back. I'm yelling please wait for the police and don't get out of your truck until they're there while my mind screams please don't leave me with four kids alone!!! I hear Ron's truck start up right after Scott's so I go in the backyard with the phone where I can almost see everything but the laundromat. I see Ron and Scott go straight at the laundromat side-by-side trying to block a car in and then some car take off and they go chasing after it. Still no cops so I'm on the phone to 911 screaming for help faster just as I hear cars screaming around the corner.
A cop got there right after and Scott came back but Ron followed the guys. I ran over to make sure he was alright and luckily he is. Ron chased them down Norton Lane at 100 miles an hour and was leading the cops to them. He was able to get the license plate number and then the guys turned down some dirt road and baled out. Ron just called Scott and said they're on a manhunt for the guys but they found the car, licenses, registration, drugs and drug paraphenalia not to mention GUNS!!, tons of tools for burglary and about $50 in quarters. As luck would also have it Scott had just counted the money today after about two weeks so there wasn't much money in there at all for them to get.
So, that's my exciting news for the night. I'm so grateful for small miracles this could have turned out so badly had Scott done anything differently or been a few seconds earlier or later either way. I'm so sad this small town is starting to have so many problems. It makes me nervous. Hope you all get some sleep tonight because I know we wont be. It's 12:10 and Scott's still over at the laundromat waiting for the police to come back and dust for prints and stuff. It's going to be a long night.

Funta Sticks! or is it Funtasticks?
For President's Day we got up and didn't really have any plans. We started kicking a few ideas around and then Scott found a website with a place called Funtasticks in Tucson. We decided why not and left about 11:00. We stopped in Benson and had lunch at Denny's and then headed into Tucson.
It wasn't until we got to the place that I mentioned something about it and I called it funta sticks. Scott looks at me and says, "Are you serious?" And I'm like, "what do you mean?" He says, "It's not funta-sticks it's fun-tasticks!" I couldn't believe I'd made such a blunder. I'm really a very good reader. It's not my fault they spelled it weird.
Anyway, the kids had fun riding a bunch of silly rides and goofy golfing. It was something to do that we could blow a bunch of unnecessary money on I guess. Here's a few pictures of all the fun:

Back Among the Living
So after being sick for a whole week I finally went to the doctor yesterday and got some antibiotics and I'm finally starting to feel better. It's been miserable. The one bright spot is how good my husband has been through the whole thing. He's been helping with dinners and dishes and even did the grocery shopping this week. However, I'm not sure sending him to the grocery store helps or hurts. He comes home with things like donut holes, oatmeal cream pies, twizzlers, and ding dongs. Gotta love him.
So after being absent so long I decided I better catch up on some posts. I have quite a few to add. First being that our court date has been set for Friday, March 21st at 1:45 p.m. This will make everything final in the eyes of the court and the boys will officially be ours. We plan to go to the temple the following week to be sealed. Our sealing will be Saturday, March 29th at 11:15. We're all so excited! I think Joey gets it better than anyone and it means the most to him. When I told him he jumped up and down and yelled, Yeah! no more Sandy! She was the previous foster mom. Kind of a funny thing to say after not seeing her or living with her for almost a year now. Just makes you wonder how really insecure they still are even after all this time.
