No Worries

She still has a vagina according to the ultrasound technician. Apparently Jan was really doubting because I hadn't even climbed up on the table when she called Scott's cell phone and then stayed on the phone until she heard the answer. Gracie is growing and very healthy and when he told me she's measuring 7 lbs 6 ozs already I decided I'm ready to get her out before she outgrows all her clothes.



I went and purchased some blue kohash on my way home from the ultrasound. Apparently it's the natural way to start labor that midwives use. Now I just have to get up the nerve to use it. I've had a few contractions this afternoon so I may start drinking it soon but I'm thinking of more like Sunday. We'll see if it really does what they say. It's only supposed to work if the baby is ready. At 7'6" she better be ready!

Another Ultrasound

OK - So everyone cross your fingers, say a prayer, turn around, throw salt over your shoulder or whatever it is you do for good luck. I have to have another ultrasound today and my mother-in-law has me all stressed out that it's not going to be a girl in this ultrasound. Please tell me it's still a girl. I can't even imagine what I would do if she's suddenly sprouted a peepee.

I'm about to post pictures of her cute very PINK room with all of her very cute PINK clothes and 16 pairs of shoes with her PINK car seat, PINK swing, PINK boppy chair, PINK rocking chair, her PINK cradle, etc.!! If this is a boy there's going to be some serious POST PARTUM around my house and probably not just from me either. Gracie's daddy is so excited he can hardly stand it himself. I couldn't find him the other day and when I did he was just sitting in the rocking chair in her room and he's been sniffing her lotion. Gotta love a man like that!!!

The Gila Box - No Fun During the Monsoon Season

With everyone being in town visiting we've been looking for things to do and decided to go play in the water down at Gila Box. Every time Scott and I have been there it's been nice a clear and clean and fun to play in but apparently during monsoon it's a different story. The water was so muddy you couldn't see anything under it. The kids didn't seem to mind but the water was swift and got pretty deep.

You can see here that where JR and Aaron are with the little kids it gets pretty deep and behind them where that rock cliff is it turns into a very deep pool. JR, Aaron and unbeknowst to me even Brandon and my Jackson jumped of those rocks into the water. JR did it several times before the little boys did. I was so nervous though that I wouldn't let Joey and Jake go past where he's standing right here and I kept telling him not to go under the water because you can't see him when he does.

Here you can barely see the top of Jake's head where he went under water on purpose. I told them they'd have to get out if they didn't stop and Scott who was standing next to me on the shore said leave them alone and let them play. So I left him in charge and went back up to the picnic area to eat my lunch. Not soon after everyone starting walking up saying Joey got swept away and Scott had to dive in after him to save him. Cell phone, wallet, clothes and all!
This is what he looked like when he came back minus a shoe as well. Later though, amazingly enough Aaron was getting out of the water and just happened to step in the same exact foot print that Scott had stepped into when he jumped in after Joey and what did he find but Scott's shoe implanted into the mud. Scott said he was never worried and could see Joey the whole time even though he was being swept under the water the whole way. YEAH RIGHT!!! So, besides the new cell phone he had to buy I guess we got off lucky.

This is the boys covered in mud when they were finished. When you ask Joey if he had fun at the Gila Box he says no because he drowned. He said it was very dark under the water. Crazy kids! When will they learn to listen to their mother!!

The Best Nana EVER!

Cami and Wendy are here visiting from Florida and California for a few weeks and with that many grandkids all running around wanting to play together at Nana's house all day can be a bit overwhelming. Nana immediately decided she needed some activities to keep them busy but what can you do in Arizona outside for two weeks but play in the water. We convinced her this waterslide might be a good choice. Boy is it ever! The kids have played on it every day, all day long as long as we let them and they love! It has been a great investment. Joey said they have the best Nana EVER and I think he's right!

Gracie's Baby Shower

Well, I'm finally getting around to uploading pictures to my computer so I can blog. I know it's been awhile but things have been busy around here. Two weeks ago my wonderful friend Jen, my great sister-in-law Becky & my awesome Mother-in-law Jan threw me a baby shower. It was so fun and I got so many cute pink things. Lots of cute outfits, handmade hair bows, bracelets, shoes, socks and much more. It was very fun. A big thanks to all who came and all who helped put it together.

Morris Family Reunion

The second weekend in June since way before I was even born has been designated as the Morris Family Reunion Campout at the Lower Log Camp of Whiteriver up north. My father is the 11th child of 13 and this is just for his siblings and their posterity. When I was young I used to think it was so big and so neat to be there with all my cousins. Nobody ever missed and we would usually camp for a whole week or two. We would play in the river and play volleyball, piggy wants a signal, dance, sing around the campfire, and on the actual reunion day play games, have a big family dinner and a talent show.

Now that I'm older I still think it is big and so neat to be there with all my cousins except it really is big now. With all of my aunts and uncles now being grandparents and even great grandparents we have swelled to about 400 people. Of course, everyone can't always make it but we usually have a good crowd of about 200 on the actual reunion day and this year was no exception.

After missing the reunion for a couple of years I was itching to go back this year but because of the pregnancy and stuff I didn't want to go unless we had a trailer. Norm & Jen were gracious enough to let us use theirs and what a blessing it was not to have to get up and pee outside 4 times a night or use the outhouse! It was a little difficult on me because of the altitude and all the walking but we muddled through and my children had a blast.

I hardly ever saw Jackson because he was always off with his uncles somewhere or playing with some cousin he just met. My little ones loved all the attention they got when meeting all of the old folks and they loved playing in the river. Our trailer was about 10 feet from the water and it was so nice to listen to it while we were falling asleep at night. We enjoyed our trip and were glad we got to go this year.

The water was very cold but that didn't stop the kids from wanting to play in it. They had a blast climbing up and down this old tree that had fallen.

Scott had the camera at this point but I guess it's a good shot of me at about 7 months. I don't look like this now that's for sure!

Jake dove in the water head first and got so chilled he had to get out after awhile but Joey stayed and played until his lips were purple.

My three oldest uncles welcoming everyone and getting the games started on Saturday morning. The two sitting down were barely able to make it because of health problems and very well my not be here next year. The adults and older kids did olympic games and relays in honor of the olympics this year.

The little kids did crafts, played games and got to do this treasure hunt where they looked for candy and toys in this big pile of hay. They loved it but it sure was messy and not good for the allergies if you have those.

Jake's 3rd Birthday

Jake turned three on June 25th and he was so excited. He asked everyday for over week if it was his birthday yet and when it finally came he could hardly stand it. It's so fun when they're at the age to know what's going on and anticipate how fun things will be. I think he was just thrilled with all the attention he got. My little ones eat up every word or look you give them!

For his birthday we had a little family gathering at Nana's house with aunts, uncles and cousins and had a BBQ. Then we opened presents and had cake. Scott's birthday was on the previous Tuesday so we celebrated for him too.

Jake is such a happy child and often sings or hums to himself while he's playing or walking around or even when he's in the corner for time out. He is fearless. He loves the water and is not afraid of drowning at all. We've had him in swim lessons and even though he can't quite do all the strokes he doesn't care and wants no part of flotation devices.

Scott & I took the kids to the Pima pool a few Saturdays ago and he was diving and flipping off the side and never seemed to care if you were watching or not. He just treads water until someone notices him. Sometimes it's very scarry. I finally told Scott we need to give him a little scare so he'd realize the danger. We let him go for awhile while we were standing right next to him and it took him a good few minutes before he was tired out of treading the water but he wouldn't reach for either one of us and he finally started sinking with a big smile on his face! So much for that idea.

He loves to smile and play with his brothers and he LOVES to talk. Sometimes he never shuts up for long periods of time. He will try anything and he loves to do flips and jumps and stuff. I need to put him in gymnastics. He can run across the living room and do a flip on the floor and he can even do a head stand. I need to get some pictures of it. We love you, Jake!
