We left our kids with Jessica & Katie Russell and left Monday morning. It took us about 8 hours to drive there but we enjoyed every minute of it. It didn't seem that long of a trip and we enjoyed each others company so much that time just flew by. We got there in the early afternoon and got checked into our condo which was right on Pacific Beach just down from Mission Beach. We stayed at a place called Capri by the Sea and our condo was on the 7th story. The whole living room wall is glass with doors that open right onto the water. It was wonderful!

We took a long walk that night down the beach and found a place to eat. The next morning we did a little shopping and sight seeing in the morning and went to a few yummy restaurants we'd found on Diner's, Drive-ins and Dives. The one for breakfast wasn't that great but we went back to El Indio for lunch which we had been to before and love. We spent the afternoon sitting on the beach reading and enjoying the weather. We went on another long walk on the beach that night.

Wednesday we decided to go see the San Diego Temple because we'd heard it was under construction and had scaffolding all over it. It looked really cool. We met a man in the parking lot who told us that there was a newly renovated Mormon Battalion Museum in Old Town San Diego. We headed over there and took the free tour. It was super cool and we wished we had the boys with us to learn all that we did. They would've loved it.

the "beautiful" picture they took of usThe rest of the afternoon was spent sitting on the beach again reading and dozing. I swear, this is my favorite thing to do. So peaceful! We walked along the beach that night collecting seashells for the kids until it was dark. I just never wanted to leave. Thursday we took our time getting checked out and then headed home. The kids did great while we were gone and we were both rejuvenated from our little get away. We enjoyed ourselves so much and it helped remind us why we love each other so much and how much we love spending time together. It was the perfect trip!
